Is It Time to Refinance? Let’s Talk About Your Options

Published on: 28/02/2025 | Author: Leah A Katz

Every 6 months, it’s a good idea to take a step back and evaluate your mortgage payments. Are you paying more than you need to? Could you be saving money? This is where I come in.

As a mortgage broker, my job is to make sure you’re not leaving money on the table. Sometimes, even a quarter-percent drop in your interest rate can lower your monthly payment, and in many cases, refinancing can be done with no cost to you. If there’s a way to improve your loan terms, I’ll find it.

When Does Refinancing Make Sense?

If you can lower your interest rate – Even a small reduction in your rate can lead to savings over time. If refinancing costs you nothing and drops your payment, why wouldn’t you do it?

If you want to lower your monthly payments – If there’s a way to reduce your payment and keep more money in your pocket, I’ll help you find it.

If you want to switch from an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) to a fixed rate – Locking in a steady rate means no surprises in the future.

If you want to get rid of Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) – If you have 20% equity, refinancing might eliminate this extra cost.

If you want to tap into your home’s equity – Need cash for home improvements, debt consolidation, or big expenses? A cash-out refinance could be an option.

But What About the Costs?

One of the biggest misconceptions about refinancing is that it’s expensive. Not always. Many times, I can lower your rate and payments without any cost to you. Every situation is different, and that’s why a conversation is so important.

Let’s See If Refinancing Makes Sense for You

Even if you’re not sure, it never hurts to check. I can run the numbers and see if refinancing would benefit you. If it makes sense, I’ll guide you through the process. If not, I’ll be honest and tell you to stay put. Either way, you’ll have clarity.
